Alan Baumlein is the Executive Pastor and also serves as an elder. Alan’s passion is being a part of a church that reaches people who are separated from God, and knowing that it’s making an impact on eternity. Alan graduated with a Business Administration degree and spent several years in Management and Sales before feeling called to vocational ministry sixteen years ago. He and his wife, Tina, have two awesome kids, Nik and Bekah, that God gave them from Russia and Virginia. As a family, you can find them playing golf and enjoying the outdoors together.
David and his wife, Jill, have been members of Christ’s Church for 14 years. He learned about what it meant to be a Christian during his catechism classes in the 5th grade, and he was baptized here when he became a member. Before attending CC, he attended church regularly and served as a financial advisor to the leadership team. Here at CC, Dave has been involved with leading tribes, serving at many different ministry events, DLU, and serving as an elder. Dave and Jill have been married for 27 years. Jill is supportive of him taking on this ministry role, and they have been deeply devoted to each other throughout their marriage, using Ephesians 5:21-23 as their yardstick. Dave and Jill have two children who are both in college: Seth (age 22) and Elle (age 18). Dave is a CPA with TaleMed, LLC. He is the Chief Financial Officer and has been there for two years. He has also recently served as the President of Mason Softball Boosters, Coach and Board Member of Ohio Thunder Softball and Ohio Hawks Softball, and Trustee at Cincinnati Christian University. He is excited to make the commitment to serve as an elder here again.
Courtenay Bythewood has been a member of Christ’s Church for the past three years. He is originally from Georgia and was raised in a Christian home. He’s been married for 42 years to his wife and partner in life, Patty. They have two grown children who both love Jesus and are raising their grandchildren to love Him too. As a family, they love to watch the grandkids in their many sports, and they also enjoy traveling together. Courtenay works in sales as an independent contractor for State Farm Insurance. He has served in various capacities at past churches such as helping in youth ministry, teaching classes, and serving as an elder. Courtenay is devoted to helping people and being an encourager.
Trevor DeVage is the Lead Pastor and also serves as an elder. When he was ten years old, he accepted Christ and was baptized. Trevor went to college at Lincoln Christian University and completed his degree in Preaching with a minor in Youth Ministry. He followed this up with a teaching degree from Wheaton University. Trevor joined our staff as Lead Pastor in 2013. His passion is for people who haven’t quite found what they’re looking for in life and playing a part in leading them to redemption and transformation. When he’s not doing ministry work, he’s spending time with his wife, Laura, and their two daughters, Ella and Natalie. They love enjoying the outdoors, and this means lots of golf, soccer, and walks in the park. His ultimate goal in life is “that it’s been evident that I’ve spent time with Jesus.”
Rick Dolezal has been attending Christ’s Church for several years now and became a member in 2014. He and his wife, Lisa, have five children who are all in their 20s: Taylor, Ashley, Parker, Adam, and Holly. Rick was baptized in 1998. He works for an international engineering company as Vice President in Sales and Marketing. When Rick has free time, you’ll find him entertaining neighbors, attending Bible study, or fixing things like cars and antique radios. He is excited about serving as an elder. He and Lisa love serving in the church however they can, and their goal is to encourage and challenge people to be followers of Christ. Rick’s favorite scripture is James 1:27: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
Brian Furnish has been a member of Christ’s Church since 1998. He was baptized as a child at the age of 10. He feels blessed to be married to his high school sweetheart, Carrie, and they have two children: Blake and Rebecca. Brian is an attorney, and he works for Miami University in the University Advancement department. When he has free time, he loves to watch and coach his kids in their various sports and activities. He also enjoys reading and volunteering in many different capacities. Brian feels humbled to be called to serve as an elder, and he believes that it is important to model leadership and servanthood for his family. His favorite scripture is from Hebrews: “Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God.” (Hebrews 12:14-15)
Mark Mueller became a Christian when he was a young boy, and he’s been a member of Christ’s Church for 26 years. He feels very blessed to have his beautiful wife Heidi, two daughters, two sons-in-law, two grandkids, and a son in high school. In their free time, Mark and his family love to grill out and listen to live music. He works at the Children’s Hospital as a Bone Marrow Transplant Nurse Care Manager. He has been faithfully serving in the high school ministry for over 16 years, currently as a tribe leader as well as a member of the high school praise band. His “life verse” is Ephesians 3:20: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.”
Nick Salyers has been a member of Christ’s Church for four years. He has been married for seven years to his wife, Karen, and together they have two sons, Harper and Bennett. Nick first accepted Jesus in 1997, but re-dedicated his life and was baptized at Christ’s Church in 2013. He works in management for a global clinical research organization. When he’s not hanging out with his family, he enjoys playing sports and hunting in his free time. Nick is looking forward to serving as an elder because it will give him an opportunity to grow in his relationship with God and to continue serving the church. His favorite scripture is Romans 8:28: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose.”
Todd Wright and his wife, Kim, have been members of Christ’s Church for five years. Thirty-six years ago, sitting in his girlfriend’s living room (now his wife) with a mutual friend from church, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was baptized afterward at their church in Lancaster, OH. Prior to coming to CC, Todd served as a worship leader, Sunday school teacher, choir member, deacon, and was very involved with the men’s Bible studies. Here at CC, he has been a teacher for the Financial Peace University classes and Legacy Journey, counseled individuals facing financial challenges, and volunteered in various areas of First Impressions. Todd and Kim have been married for 34 years, and they have five children: Nate, Macey, Mackenzie, Mallory, and Carson. They range in age from 13 to 34, each growing in their personal relationships with God. Kim is supportive of the joys and demands that eldership will bring, and Todd is thankful that she is his “anchor.” Todd is a product training engineer for Sun Nuclear Corporation. He feels that although it is a challenge, it’s important to balance work, exercise, Bible study, and family time.
